1 1/4" GA Gun Belt
If you're in the market for a great 1 1/4" gun belt, then
you might want to check this out. Ed and I recently stumbled across a local
leather craftsman who produces a handcrafted line of leather gun belts that
may be the best gun belt value that we've ever seen.
How impressed were we with this belt line? So impressed that
we commissioned him to produce a version of his line under the Gunner's Alley
name.
Why do we think it's such a good value? A number of things:
Materials
Most leather gun belts are done in traditional cowhide leather. Instead of cowhide,
this craftsman uses two strips of 6-7 ounce grade Bull hide leather.
Why use bull hide over cowhide? Bull hide is denser, stronger, and more durable
than cowhide. As such, a bull hide gun belt it is much less likely to stretch
out over time like a comparable cowhide gun belt will.
All these belts are stitched with a commercial grade, heavy
duty nylon thread designed to last. The buckles used are a high quality, low
profile type designed to allow the buckled belt to lay as flat as possible.
The buckles are available in either solid brass or plated nickel. The buckles
themselves are interchangeable, and attach to the belt via a set of black chicago
screws.

Comments
Ed/Brad,
The new GA belts
arrived today, and you guys have hit a home run with this product. The
quality of the leather is first rate, the stitching is strong and even,
the hardware is top of the line, and the cut is straight and true. They
weigh a lot more than I thought they would, which attests to the quality
of the leather. Congratulations on adding another outstanding product,
along with continuing your superb customer service. All I can say is
thank you for suggesting this product, and thank you for getting it
to me so quickly. Yes, you may feel free to use this note as an endorsement
if you feel it is appropriate.

Craftsmanship
First and foremost, these 1 1/4" belts are custom made by hand, one at
a time. Here are a few examples of the detailed craftsmanship from this make:
- The outer layer of bull hide is submersion dyed (versus spray dyeing) for
maximum color retention over time.
- The inner layer is left a natural bull hide color, to prevent any dye from
potentially bleeding on your clothes.
- All exposed belt edges are smooth finished, and dyed black.
- The belt keepers (also called the tongue retention strap) are double stitched.
Turnaround Time
Most custom belt manufacturers take anywhere from 3 to 6 months to produce gun belts
of this quality. We can typically have one of our custom made gun belts completed
to your specifications in 40 days or so.
Customer Comments
Guys,
That cinches it.
I'm sold on your new belts!
I've worn this Gunner's Alley belt for about 10 days now. I've worn
it to work without a holster or weapon, to the city with a 239 Sig,
to the woods with a Ruger Security Six, and to the grocery store with
a Makarov. After the "wear in" period, which was about three days (much
like a good quality, leather shoe), it is absolutely the most comfortable
belt I've ever worn, gun or not. Tonight was the real clincher, thus
the reason for the quick note.
It's a cold rain outside tonight, a Saturday night. A really crappy
day all around. I'm also suffering from torn muscles and ligaments in
my right shoulder, a weightlifting injury I sustained in preparation
for the hectic and demanding spring planting season here in the midwest,
which, by the way, is also behind schedule due to the rain. I have been
in better moods. With miserable weather and an aching body, my family
decided to throw together some pizzas and watch a few DVD's, which required
me to take a trip to town.
I strapped on the
new belt and the Sig, and went to town. When I got home, we busily made
some fresh pizzas, slipped a disc into the player, I grabbed a beer,
and planted my butt on the couch. At that time, I received a gentle
reminder. The Sig was still on my hip, and the gun poked me lightly
in the ribs. I couldn't freakin' believe it. I had been home for 45
minutes, cooking, cleaning up, and all of the home stuff that goes with
it, and I had forgotten that I was still walking hot. I had not yet
disarmed.
That has NEVER happened to me with ANY other belt! I forgot I was still
carrying? Man! I have to give you guys credit where credit is due. Brad
and Ed, ya did it again. It's nice to be able to count on people to
do as they say, and it's better yet when they continue to exceed expectations.
Gunner's Alley has a permanent customer it it's data base, and that's
me.

We receive a number of calls each week from LEO's, shooter's, and CCW holders
asking about a gun belt that will meet two criteria:
- Be worn with plainclothes or dress clothes, and
- One that does not look like a gun belt.
If you are one of those folks looking for a dressy gun belt,
then we'd really suggest taking a look at this 1 1/4" GA model. It functions
flawlessly for this purpose; providing excellent support, while looking like
most dress belts on the market.
If you're interested in a different size, the GA Belt line
also comes in a 1 1/2" and 1 3/4" version. Those other sizes can be
seen here:

These belts can be made to fit a waist size from 29" all
the way up to 70" and beyond. Any size 50-59" inches costs an extra
$10.00, and any size 60"-69" costs $20.00 extra. Please call us for
special pricing on belt sizes over 70". If your waist size decreases, you
can send the belt back to us to have it sized down for $10.00.
Sizing
IMPORTANT - As these are custom made on an as ordered basis,
please take the time to size the belt in the manner specified below. Your current
pant size is probably not be an accurate measure of your waist, so please don't
use that figure.
The most accurate measurement method is to actually measure
your waist. We recommend that use a cloth measuring tape. Run the tape through
the belt loops on your pants, snug it up, and then round to the nearest inch.
If you don't have a cloth measuring tape available, you can
use a string. Run the string through your belt loops and then mark the measurement.
Lay the string flat and then measure the length. If the measurement is fractional,
then round up the nearest length.

Ed and I feel that these belts are a tremendous value for the
money. We've looked at (and own) a number of excellent gun belts from manufacturers
like Kramer, Rosen, and Sparks. With that being said, we are very comfortable
stating that these 1 1/4" GA Belts are of equal quality, at a significantly
lower cost. If you are looking for a good 1 1/4" gun belt, give this one
a try. You won't be sorry. As with all our products, any of new GA Gun Belts
come with our 45 money back guarantee.
